Are you interested in a career that utilizes your creativity and problem solving skills? Do you think you have what it takes to create technology? Would you like to find a career that offers plenty of openings, career growth, and great wages? In celebration of Computer Science Education Week, the ILC will sponsor an Hour of Code Do Something Cool on Friday, December 14 in cooperation with Technology Support Internship teacher Chris Snyder and his students. This global movement is designed to expose students to basic computer science principles. According to Hour of Code, “Computing occupations are the fastest-growing, best paying, and now the largest sector of all new wages in the U.S.”
This is really an exciting time to be entering the computing field as the number of job openings exceed the number of graduates! The salaries are great, too. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, last year’s salary for the different computing careers range from $52,810 to $139,220. There are at least three ways you can get started on your coding career:
