Pageapalooza is underway at Lakes, and the ACHS challenge begins on October 2. Both students and staff are welcome to participate in the reading contest. The goal: To read as many pages as you can for the fun of it, either with the support of a team or as an individual, over the course of four weeks. Seventy-nine students and staff, including 14 teams, began Pageapalooza at Lakes on September 4. In all, they recorded more than 37,000 pages during Week 1. The challenge ends for the Eagles on October 1.
At ACHS, the challenge will take place throughout the month of October as part of the Teen Read Week celebration from October 9–13. Participants at both schools have an opportunity to win prizes, even if they don’t finish at the top. All participants, for example, can stay motivated by earning prizes for hitting milestones throughout the challenge (500 pages; 1,000 pages; and 3,000 pages), or by remembering to submit their weekly page totals on time. Finally, an Endurance Award will be raffled off to an individual who both submitted his/her pages on time each week and achieved at least Milestone Two. View the Lakes LibGuide or ACHS LibGuide for more details, or contact Kellie Piekutowski at Lakes or Barbara Mason at ACHS.
