The 2019 ILC Escape Room was based off of the popular YA novel-turned-movie Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Students had 20 minutes to travel through four rooms. They had to locate keys and coins and solve riddles and puzzles — all in an effort to achieve the end goal of locating James D. Halliday's Easter Egg. The escape room was open from Monday, January 28 through Tuesday, February 5 (we added a couple of days due to the snow and cold days).
Thank you to Grayslake Central librarian Jennifer Naes for writing the game and sharing it. Thank you to Wauconda High School librarian Kathryn Stott for letting Mrs. P. observe her escape room and for lending her some of the props. Thank you to Mrs. Bowen, Mrs. Stan, Mrs. Burton, Mr. Shifley, Mrs. Gates, and the Social Studies Department for donating props for the experience.
